    What Is Friendship?

There I was standing all alone and then comes someone to play which brings me to what is friendship. One is its fun, the second is cheerful, and the third reason is that its outstanding.

One of the reasons is that in that in one of the movies is called Tommy Boy. In this movie This guy gets out of college and his dad dies so he takes over the buisness and he needs to go on the road to sell things and he starts being friends with his assistant.

The second reason is what friendship is not. Friendship is not just hangin out with people that treat you bad and make fun of you. Friendship is when you hang out with people that you can just be yourself with and they don’t care they just like playing with you.

The last reason is that friendship is outstanding. Friendship is outstanding because if you did not have any friends then you would be alone. For Example, when I came to a new school I did not have any friends and I was alone.

And in conclusion fun, outstanding, and cheerful is why friendship is a relationship with friends and as what Muhammad Ali said “Friendship… is not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything” to me that means that if you don’t know what is friendship that you do not know anything because what is really important is friendship.

    Hope

There I was, on my computer, knowing there was a science test the next day. I did not study. I was just playing. I had hope that I would do good. The next day, I took the test, confused and worried. “I should have studied,” I said to myself. I felt like a fool. I guessed on every answer. When I got back the test, the results weren’t bad. They were disappointing. To me, hope is courage and confidence.
Others see hope as a feeling, an emotion. People hope for the best, but the outcome is not always as you want it to be. Some people go to something as their hope. For example, surgery or the best player in a basketball team. But can you always rely on someone or something to always be their for you? There are times in which your only hope is not there for you. If this happens, you must do things yourself and do as best as you can.
Hope is not strength, intelligence, or any other ability. As you hope for something, you don’t receive the ability to do things. Hope just gives you the confidence to do something and the willpower to succeed. With hope, you won’t be able to do what you want in a test. You won’t have the necessary information to answer a question properly. Can you lift a 1000-pound weight with confidence and willpower alone? No. You need the talents and abilities need to do so.
As I said in my thesis, hope is courage and confidence. I think that with courage, you’re able to do the unthinkable. With confidence, you’re able to do things you want to do. I think that hope is still important for ourselves, even though you’re not able to accomplish everything. With hope, you’re able to do things you want and be happy.
Hope is an emotion, not the ability to do something, and to me, courage and confidence. Now, here is a quote my friend made, “Hope is a curse. It only gives you the courage and willpower to do something. Can you lift the world with courage and willpower alone?” This quote is very true. I have used some ideas for my essay. It has inspired me to do practice for things and study for school and I hope you do the same.

    Death in my terms

It was a Friday night when my cousin and I were watching Friday night Smackdown with my cousin. It was an ashes to ashes match and one of the wrestlers was knocked down and the other wrestler was dragging the other to the fire. He was set on fire and he ran around. My cousin said “I wonder what happens when someone is set on fire while their asleep. I think it feels nice.” I said to him “No, that’s called cremation, and when your cremated you turn into ashes.” He said “ but they always come back.” I said “No when your ‘cremated’ you die or your already dead” He started to cry. He asked again “what happens when you die?” I could not answer that question because there where so many definitions of the word “death”
Death can mean many things. Like going to a better place, or sleeping for ever. Most of the time when an older person dies the adult tells the child that they went to a better place and that their never going to see them ever again. As an example my great grandfather died and my grand mother said that his spirit left his body and went to a better place. Most parents say that to children because they don’t want to tell what it means. In the dictionary, death is defined as the end of ones life. On T.V. they only mention the important peoples death and people that died of an extremly rare disase. As an example, Ronald Regan’s funeral was major ceremony. Also James Brown, the godfather of soul, died and a funeral was taken place that was on every news talks show, music station and every news channel. Most people say death is a nice thing but they don’t reflect what It’s not.
Death is not going to a better place or sleeping forever. Sleeping forever is called a comma and when some one dies they decompose so if some one slept forever and called it death, then that person wakes up as a skeleton and that is not posible. No one can say were a person goes to when they die. Adults say those two to children a lot. Those don’t reflect my definition.
Death, to me means that some one just gave up on surviving and and just slips away. There is many ways that I can define death. What death means is to me is sleeping without a pulse. One example is my 32 year old cat (cat years) when I found him outside my house on the ground, in a sleeping position, with out a pulse.
“As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well spent brings happy death.” This quote was made by the wonderful Leonardo da Vinci and his quote relates to death because life needs to be spent well to have a happy death and even there you don’t know where you go next.I can’t say if any of the things like going to a better place is true and I can’t say that death is sleeping forever. But I have said what death is to me.

    Similarities between Goths and Emo

Goth: a person of no refinement. Emo: showing revealing strong emotions. To people these two definitions may seem similar to them. But to some they seem different. But they look different once you see an emo’s style and a goth’s style. Emo and goth has the same definition, they have no emotions, they have the same styles, and lots more.

Emo and goths have many similarities togethter, one of their similarities is how they don’t talk too much. When you talk to an emo person they don’t really talk much. When you talk to them they usually don’t response, but when you talk about something they love to do, or something they like to talk about, then they might talk to you. For example, some things you can talk about to emo people are death and cutting yourself. Goth people have also don’t talk too much. But goth’s only like to talk about how they like to wear black clothing or how they like black. Emo and goth’s don’t like to talk too much and they even have the same style of fashion.

Another example of their similarities are their style of fashion. Emo and goth’s style are only black clothing. For example, if you see goth people you can see that they wear black clothes. Another example for emo is that they also wear black clothes. So you can’t really tell if they are emo or goth. But you can sometimes see the cuts on emo peoples wrists, because emo people cut themselves and goths don’t. Emo and goth have the same style of fashion and they don’t have any emotions or attitudes, but they are always in the same mood.

One last example of emo and goths similarities is that they don’t have any emotions or attitudes, but they have the same mood. Emo and goths have no emotions because they only they have no feelings. They also have no attitudes because they don’t talk much at all. But they do have the same mood everyday. For example, when you see an emo person or a goth you can see that their face looks plain and that they always close their lips.

Emo and goth have many similarities, one of their similarities is how they love to think of death. Another similarity is their style of clothes. And lastly their attitude, their mood, and how they are always in the same mood everyday. I asked my goth friend, Christy, if emo and goths have the same similarities. And her quote was “ I guess so.” Christy doesn’t talk much but she also agrees that goth and emo have some similarities together. And I also asked my emo cousin, Robby, if emo and goths have some similarities together. And his quote was “ Sure I guess?” So even emo and goths agree that they have some similarities. So maybe one day they will have a word that means both emo and goth.

    Tolerance is What we Need
A few months ago I saw a black and white movie, it was called “Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?”. This movie is about two sisters, as children the younger of the two was a star who was spoiled and abused her older sister. In later years, the older sister became famous while the younger sister’s fame ended. After an “accident” caused by one the sisters, one became paralyzed the other forced to take care of her which caused this sister to become mentally insane. The movie ended out, in my opinion, great with lots of tragedy, betrayal, and psychological horror. I brought up this movie is because I believe it brings up the subject of tolerance, especially for those who don’t seem normal to you.

To other people, tolerance means that people who are classified as different must be treated differentally from another person. That is not necessarily true. If a person of the same citizenry moved into the same neighborhood but had a different color of skin, would you treat them differentally from everyone else because you think that because of their color, they would not understand a few things? What if a Swedish family moved into the house next to yours and their children went to the same school as yours. Would you treat them diferentally? Well, my answer for both is no. Just try to treat different looking people you know with respect. You don’t have to like them, just respect them and teach them the things they should know if they don’t understand your language.
Since I have told you what tolerance is other people, let me tell you what tolerance is not.

Tolerance, doesn’t mean that you have to treat a different person as completely normal. You don’t have to like that person, you just respect that person of course. Tolerance also doesn’t mean that you exclude someone even though they are different. You should just try to include them. If they are physically impaired, it might be a bit harder to include them into whatever you are doing. Now, I will tell you what I think tolerance is.

Well, tolerance to me is showing respect to all kinds of people, tall or short, younger or older, or just about anyhting else. You do not have to be friends with them or even like them for that matter, but I think that this is how everyone should think of tolerance. Even though this is not the same for me. I have been taking care of my older brother for 6-8 years, he has Down Syndrome. I respect him and I think of him as my friend. His name is Gian and he is 13 and I’m 12. Through the years, we’ve been through ups and downs, our downs and ups, but he is still family and I have a duty to take care of him until the day he dies or I die, which I hope will be a long, time from now.

In conclusion, I would like to end with a quote from Gilbert K. Chesterson. “Tolerance is the virtue of man without convictions”. It’s a short quote, but I believe I have summed up my point. Tolerance is is giving respect to anyone without treating them as differentally from anyone else you know. Well anyway, thanks for listening and I hope people who are intollerant will try to change their ways. Goodbye.

    Responsibility
There are many ways to define responsibility like your goals in life, or something to live by, but the one that they put in the big book of words called a dictionary is having a job they define it as a duty to be preformed with trust and concern. But I have a little problem with responsisbility and it’s called distrust. I always say I did my duty and did my job but it was incomplete and wasn’t done well. I also lost a little bit of trust. So what I think responsibility is is to do your duty and to get it done right and perfect. But most see it as a goal.

Other people mostly see responsibility as their goal to get it right, or to do it as their duty in life to do it as a job. Mostly they see it as a goal because the think that once they do their responsibility they are done for the day and they can relax. Then the other little bit of people think of responsibility as a duty to do as much as theycan get done in one day and to keep doing it until their full goal has been accomplished and then they start all over with a new goal to fix their own house or to get to show the boss a new idea or to make a new game or toy for the company they work with. But one thing is for sure resonsponsibility, is not a game.

Responsibility is not saomethin gto be taken lightly. It is not a game you play every day. Responsibility is to be taken very seriously. It is something you do everyday until the day you die. If you are a baby then your duty is to carwl all around the house and attract attention. If you are a toddler then you have to play as much as you can until the day is gone. If you are a student then your duty is obviously to go to school and get an education. And if you’re a teen then all you have to do is mope around and drive you parent insane, not to mention the responsibility of preparin for a life in the real world. But if you are a parent, watch for your kids and teach them while you can. But the last stage is if you are a senior citizen then you have to enjoy your last years as if you will die the next day everyday. Everybodyu has responsibility no matter what age you are. This is a very important word to me especially.

To me responsibility is a way to live by and to bring to life, to bring to life in your life. Responsibility is sometyhing to learn from and to put into action. The main point is to do it everyday as much as you can for the rest of your life.

My point is Responsibility is something to live by to put into your life and to set it in any of your goals no matter what, who, when, where you are you always have something to do, and that something is responsibility.

    What’s my Friendship

There were these three girls who where the best of friends. They would hang out with each other every day. they would tell each other everything, and keep it. They would always say that their friendship was the best, and that they will never separate. But the word friendship is not just telling each other secrets, and keeping it, it is a little more complicated than that.
The word friendship mean a lot of things. It can mean being there for your friend when he or she needs you. Or it can also mean that you have to be honest with each other. There are so many meanings of friendship that one person can say, but there are also some things that friendship doesn’t mean.
Friendship is something that both friends need to understand. But there are somethings in a friendsship that can go wrong. For example, if one of your friends thinks that you have to always do something they tell you, that is wrong. You can do somethings they want if you want to, but you don’t have to all. Another example is, if they talk behind your back. If they do that they are not your true friend. Friendship shouldn’t be something that you have to be forced to do. It is something that you should enjoy.
A friend is someone who you should have fun with. Friendship is something that you can cherish with your very best friend or friends. It is something that you want it to be. Ether you would want it to be very boring, and not such a great expereance. But why would you want that, you want it to be very great, and a wonderful thing.
And in conclusion, because of all the good thing that you can get out of it, and because you can have someone to be there for you, that is why friendship is something great. Some you should go out and make a good friend, because you will never know that, that person can be your very best friend some day.

    Feeling Essay

    Love

Is love important to you in life? Love to me is very important and there are so many reasons why love is important to me. Love is a feeling that has happiness and yet, even pain. Love to me is also a feeling I will never lose in with in life.

Love can sometimes be painful. In other words, there are some times were love just isn’t workingout and then something bad happens and you think its all going to be over. For example, once you realize that you’ve done wrong you apologize and make everything okay once again. For example you notice that you fought for little mistakes or for things you’ve done on accident. Love can be a feeling of sadness or hate, after something wrong happens, love is somehow going to be good all over again. Even though love can be painful, love is always there for you.

Love is there for you no matter what happens. Love these days either is good, okay, or really bad. For example if the man goes to the hospital for any reason, she usually is there for you or either not. Love in other words is also there for support or isn’t. For example supporting him/her is very important because it shows that your there for him/her. In my words supporting love is the best you can do when something is wrong. Not only is love there for you, love maybe the best feeling in the world.

For me love is the best feeling I had ever felt. For example people like my age say that true love is found at first sight, I support that saying 50/50 because im not that sure. I may not support that saying that much but I do believe that I have found my true love. Feeling love is the greatest I had ever felt so far in my life.

In conclusion, that’s what I define love as. I define love as a good feeling, love is there to support, and love hurts at sometimes. I think love is very important to me. I myself is experiencing love.

    ☺Friendship Stuff☺

In the dictionary, the word friendship means: the state of being friends. Not really very informative, but for some people, it works. People think having friends is a good thing, but some friends can be annoying. It’s also difficult when some friend get on each others nerves and start arguing about things that they only care about and no one else does. But some wonder if some people are rally that good of friends. And some people make fun of others with the kinds of friend they have. What is wrong with some people? Friendship is defined as people want it to be defined and so on.

Some people think of friendship like people that just hang out in little groups of 2 to a lot (really sad if you don’t have any). I say that friends get together, have fun and get hyper on sugar! Some people, I don’t know who, will think you have all gone crazy. Other people may join you for no apperant reason, but you’ll have more fun. You’ll all have success in having the most fun in that day. I just wonder what other people think, since I can’t get in their heads.

Friendship is not about fights every where you go. Fights might even break up the most tightest bond of friends, maybe even when you were friends for who knows how long. Friends never hate each other, only in fights though. Also a friendship is not one with no friends. That’s just not right and it doesn’t make sence in the first place. And friendship is not a friendship with out fun!! No fun, no friends, no happy, no um..hyperness a friendship does not make. Those are the things I think friendships do not make.

For me, it means having fun with people that you enjoy being with. It includes singing the F.U.N. song and other songs that kind of make sence and kind of don’t. and having fun with friends is a good way to waste time. Then some other days you and friends just seem kind of bored and don’t know what to do. Also you invite friends to b-day partys and other things. Friends also cheer you up if your sad or the other way around. Friend figure out problems and keep you, or them, happy as can be. And you may have little fights here and there that make no sence what so ever (or does), but your still friends (unless is a bigger fight).

So, altogether, friends are what people what to think themselves and they think their own definition. Here’s a quote from a show I watch. “F is for frolick though all the flowers, U is for ukalele, N is for nose picking, sharing gum, and sand licking here with my best buddy.” –Spongebob episode- (don’t ask…I think I lost it). It kind of relates, right? And so there is my essay about friendship and enjoy that you have friends.

    Definition Essay

I was watching TV, flipping chinnels, trying to find something good. While that was happening, I noticed a child with her mom. She asked her, “Why was I here? Why am I put on this earth?” I tried to answer it myself, thinking it was easy. It seemed that most people don’t know either. So I wanted to find what it meant. I wanted to know the true meaning of living. I was going to answer the question, “What is the meaning of life?”.

In the dictionary, life has many meanings. The first is “form or quality of existence that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic or imanimate things. The characteristics of life that are shared by all living organisms are growth, reproduction, metabolism, and the capacity to respond to stimuli.” I feel that life means something more that just that. The definition that the dictionary has given seems a little to complicated. Some people beliveve that there is no meaning. They believe, “life has no meaning. The meaning of life is death.” Others think the opposite. Their meaning of life is “to live as long as possible.” And there are the one’s who believe that life is something to use. The others say that, “life of a human being is to serve others add live to the full extent. We are put hear to help one another and live in unity.” That’s just some people. The first comment says that life has no meaning. This message can get people confused. Is there a meaning for living? Is there a point in living?

A friend of mine seemed uncertain and he asked me, “Whats the point of living?” I didn’t know what to reply. I thought for a moment. All I said was, “Don’t kill yourself.” I was thinking about his question. Life shouldn’t be used as a toy. Life is not to be abused. It canjust be something that you can throw a way. A life is supposed to treasured, not tempered. The third comment, “to live for others”, is a large topic, though the question still remains.

To most Christians, the true meaning of living is to help each other. If you think about it, you can understand what they mean. They say that they are helping each other to have a good life. As long as they can cooperate, they can thrive together, life good lives, and have a happy ending.

The general meaning of life would be the dictionary, but to others, it is to serve others. The true meaning of life really seems to depend on what the person wants it to be. This shows that you should live your own life and not others. What I’m trying to say is that life doesn’t matter unless you live it yourself, your way, and make your choices.

Foreign, What is it or what is it not.

When I started school on 6th grade I felt foreign, because I was new and I felt very weird because I didn’t know anybody. To me this is what foreign means, it means you can be new at a school or coming from a country like to most people it can mean for example it can mean somebody coming from France to America. To some people foreign has one meaning or many meanings. Being foreign can be tough, but it can also have its advantages. Foreign can be complicated to one or as easy as the back of somebodies hand.

I think people think foreign is somebody coming from one country to another. If people are friends they probably think the same thing, because if they don’t for some weird reason they might get mad at each other and they wont be friends. People think foreign means anybody who speaks a different language. Lots of people here in America speaks different languages, but they speak english. This is what people think but this is whatt it doesn’t mean.

Being foreign can mean lots of things but what is it not. Lets say you are school but you have been there for a couple of years. The fact that you have been there for a couple of years you probably know a lot of people. One more thing is that you might have gone to that school left for a couple of years and gone back and people remember you. They might be born here and they speak are language. This is what foreign is not, but this is what is I think it is.

I think foreign means people being new at a school. I was a new student last year and I didn’t get a lot of attention so I stayed away from people for 2 weeks. When I went I didn’t know anybody so I was very quiet. Just the fact of being new there was tough because I didn’t like to talk, but now I do.

So this is what I have to say about being foreign. I told you what people think it is, what it is not, and what I think it is. So as I said it is easy for some and not easy for others.

    Perfect or Not?

Being perfect is to stressful? When people try to be perfect they stress out because their parents say you have to be a perfect child so study hard. So now the child studies for all the test and tries his best and sometimes parents don’t accept his grade. Also some kids try to be perfect because in schools there are kids who are treated with no respect and they try to act perfect so it would stop. They think when there perfect people would like them and stop.

Perfect to me is doing your best to accomplish your goal. For example, if a high school graduate accomplishes his or her goal to be a doctor and he or she is going to doctor school he or she is perfect. He or she is perfect because he or she accomplished her goal in life.

Perfect is someone who has everything, he or she is smart, good looking, nice, and ect. That is the meaning to others. When they think of a perfect person they think of their model, celebrity, president, or the most popular girl or guy in school.

Perfect is not going beyond the limit and change themselves if there not smart and suddenly a week after he or she is the smartest in the school to get friends. Or someone who is always made fun of at school because there ugly so they go home and fix themselves to get friends. Doing these kinds of things builds stress in your body. When parents say they have the perfect child because he or she has the best grades they misuse the word.

This is what perfect is or is not.“They say that nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they’d make up their minds.” This quote relates to my essay. Winston Churchill wrote this quote. If your trying to be perfect just be yourself.

Are Superstars Really Living the Dream?

“It’s not fair!” I remember my friend saying after reading an article about a discovered movie star. She shouts and nags me about why she isn’t a star or a millionaire. Then, I said to myself, “So?!”. At that moment, I realized that there are many sources of happiness. Is there ever a right source? Does everyone want the same thing in life? When will we ever receive happiness? What is happiness? Happiness is the knowledge and wisdom we learn in life; it is more than a smile, but a glow of respect and love on the faces you showed concern for. But for others, happiness may be something else.

What do people want in life? Is having what people in television, magazines, and on the spotlight what everyone wants? Do they all have a perfect life, always being thought as a “god”? Movie stars, singers, or anyone that’s famous, has the one thing everyone wants: MONEY. People want money, to keep, not to share. They want to buy all the luxuries in the world, fulfilling happiness. Women will buy jewelry, like diamond bracelets, to prove they have wealth. Some people like having no problems at all, like living in paradise. But do these lead to the path of happiness? Or do these lead to the path of something that isn’t close?

Is happiness a thing or a memory? Happiness is not something you buy or steal from someone. You can’t just go in a store and ask a person “Which aisle can I find happiness?” Happiness isn’t something that happens over-night. You can’t just wake up one morning and say you are happy just because you won in the casino the night before. Happiness is not an amount. It is so expensive, that even a person who has all the money in the world, cannot buy real happiness. These are not what happiness is about. But there are more to what happiness truly is.

Is happiness something so simple that anyone can find or is it something that you need to earn and takes a lifetime? Sharing money, instead of keeping it all to yourself, will make unfortunate people and you happy. Knowing that I did my best and did not do anything wrong to make myself look better, makes me happy. Happiness surrounds me and my family because we know that we all love each other. My having lots of friends that aren’t a bad influence and friends who care for me makes me happy. Being healthy and not harming my body in any way and respecting my mind, body, and soul make me happy. People are searching and reaching for a specific goal in life. But the most simple one to find is happiness, if you know what you’re looking for.

And in conclusion, different people have different ways of finding the path to happiness. Some want money, others want a lot of friends. Some want wealth, others want a child that can light up each and every day of their lives. “The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” I believe in this quote, by Allan K. Charles, because I know that its true. Happiness is something you do, not to buy. For some, you searching for happiness can lead you to hell. But for those who just do what they are supposed to do, like following Jesus’ way, may just find themselves sitting in paradise.

    Friendship may turn to Love

There was this time in 5th grade, I was invited to my friends birthday party. We all played water gun fight and many other cool games. We of course had to bring extra clothes, because after the games, we were soaking wet! Until that time one of his friends came. I knew from the beginning, deep down inside me, it’s like he was the only one I saw. If I had to pick a day to go back in time to, it would be this day. I would choose this day because I had a chance to talk to him, and get to know him better. Now I know him well, we are in the same class, and are close friends. First he was my friend, and now I think love. Maybe I am ready to experience love. To me, love is about caring and respecting the one you truly love.

Love can mean so many things to different people. It’s hard to understand what people say about love. Sometimes people may tend to use the word “love” in a wrong way. For example, people usually say they love that song, or they love it! Sometimes it just dosen’t make sense. Whatever you feel about love, it’s a part of you, inside of you. For instance, sometimes your friends or family members say that love is something else, and not what you think what love is. Maybe your mom thinks that love is always about romance and anniversaries, but you think that love is about caring, trust and understanding, lets just say you and your mom have different opinions about how the word love can be defined. Would you pretend that you think the same thing? Or would you tell her what you think love is? Be an individual who is proud and happy about the many different ways that “love” can be defined. And because of love and friendships, I understand how hard it is to maintain everything inside of you, and everything about you.

Others define love like for an object or designer brands and such sort. People don’t understand that love is about caring for each other, and being kind to one another, like taking care of each other, watching out for each other. Love isn’t always about romance and all those other things. Some of my friends think that love is always about relationships. Even though I am in a relationship, it isn’t always about love, it’s about trust, caring, and being kind. Some of the people I know are in relationships too. I love my friends, they are like my second family. I love and take care of them, whatever happens, I listen to what they need to say.

Relationships are very unique and understandable. If you feel like you love and care for someone, and if I knew you, I would tell you to go for that person. For instance, you like a boy in the 8th grade, I’m not stopping you for what you do, what you want to do, and what you’re going to do. It’s your own life, not mine. It isn’t my decision, it’s yours. I already felt that way before. There are many types of love. To me, love is special and treasurable. Like a memory that you will always remember and always keep. Love is meaningful and understandable. Love is very sweet, kind and gentle. A quote from Saint Augustine, “Love is the beauty of a soul.” Well, that’s true, love is beautiful, and is in your soul.

And in conclusion because of love, I understand everything and how everyone feels about love. And that is why love can be defined in many different ways, by many different people. Love can mean many things, and I love everyone, even if they are mean and really hard to understand, I care about them. I love my friends and family because they care for me, as much as I care for them. Love has many terms and meanings.

    A Group We Call Friends

My sister ran into her room as she came home from schoool, and skipped around jauntily. “I have new friends!” she yelled repeatedly. I told her that making friends was a great thing. She had new friends that she could play with. A while later, she told me that in order to keep her friends, she had to give them her lunch and snack each day. I didn’t know how to tell her that she was just being used and in reality, had no friends. So, I left the room without saying a word. It is important to define the word friends because some people have no idea what friends are, and think they have friends when they don’t. To me, friends are people you can rely on and be yourself with.

To some people, friends can be defined in many ways, but to one person it can mean a person who is mean, but hangs out with you all the time. To others, it can also mean someone who hangs out with you for the money that you have in your wallet, or all the cool items you have in your room. You can have a ton of people you think are your friends, but aren’t really. For example, if there is a popular kid who sees that you have a ton of money, she’ll hang out with you. But, once you get broke and have no money, she will no longer be your friend. To some, friends can be defined as someone who is always giving you stuff, such as money, or lunch, or toys. For example, if you have a friend and you only hang out with her because of what she has, you are not loyal, and have no real friends. I have now talked about what other people have defined friends as, now, lets move on to what it’s not.

Friends are not something that is defined by money, or toys, or things you have. Friends cannot be defined by how many people hang out with you just for your stuff. Just because you are popular, and people hang out with you all the time, it means nothing unless they also care for you and are loyal to you, instead of just using you to get popular themselves. For example,if there was a popular girl, and you were always around her, you might just be using her to get into a cool clique, or get popular yourself. At school, people hang out with you, but are they your friends for real? How would you know? Their attitude towards you helps you know. For example, if you have a lot of money or cool toys, someone might just suddenly hang out with you. If she is mean to you, or keeps asking you for stuff, she is not a real friend. Now that I talked about what friends are not, let us see what I think about what friends realy are.

Friends should be a group of people that like you for you and not anything else. It could be a group of people that share a common interest, or a group of people who are complete opposites, but still like to hang out with each other. For example, if you have a friend, and she is always hanging around you, and helping you with problems, then they are real friends. Friendship can be defined as someone who stays with you till the end, someone who hangs out with you through good times and bad. For example, if you have a friend that moves away, that does not mean that you should stop being friends and lose touch with eachother. If you were real friends, you would call everyday, e-mail or even chat online.

As a man named Len Wein once said, “A friend is someone who is there for you when he’d rather be anywhere else.” I think that this quote has the true meaning of friendship. It talks about a real friend being there for eachother, and has nothing to do with people liking you for what you have such as nice clothes, toys, or a lot of money. This applies to me, because I think that my friends are caring, and help me when I need it. Unlike others, I have great friends who are helping, caring, and have all the great attributes a friend should have. So, looking back, I would have to say, throughout my life, I have had great friends.

    Fame or Infamous

We all know the famous Martin Luther King Jr. He was a very well known man. We can say that he had fame. Fame can be a decent or terrible word. Martin Luther King wasn’t famous for being in movies or television shows; he was famous because he was a hero to all people. He told them that we are all equal people inside. So, he was a descent kind of fame. In the dictionary, fame is described as “the condition of being known or talked about by many people”. To me, fame should be a definition of inspiration and hero combined.

Fame can mean several definitions. It can mean a person who is well known around the world, or it could be about some people who are inspired of others accomplishments. It could mean being a celebrity in a movie or a television show. The meaning of fame is mostly started out about reputation. Everybody in the world has a reputation, so everybody must have fame. For example, a baby could have fame for being so adorable and cute. An old poor guy on the street could have fame for being dirty and old with no house, but still has the pride to stand out. But there are some meanings of fame that aren’t always great. Like Hitler, he had fame for starting the Holocaust, which was the killing of all the Jews. But that kind fame is terrible. That fame was an inspiration to all criminals in the world. That kind of fame should be the opposite, but it actually means the same thing.

To me, fame is not having a lot of money, that is fortune. Having a lot of money for doing bad things throughout your life could be fame. But to me, it does not mean the same definition as the good kind of fame. For example, a 45-year-old man bribes someone for money, and is getting famous for it. That has less fame than a 12-year-old kid jumping a water fountain with his skateboard. Fame is not being known for doing something wrong. When you think of fame, you may probably think about celebrities and movie stars. But actually they’re kind of different from one another. Fame is when you accomplish your dreams and you are remembered for it. Being a celebrity is sometimes being picked out from someone who thinks you’re a good actor because of your looks. But fame doesn’t have to do with looks.

If you think you have fame then think about this. Fame should be a word that could be used for people who are an inspiration, or maybe or inspiration even a hero to others. Because being a hero helps others not for the money, but to be a inspiration to others.

I will end this essay with a quote from none other than Albert Einstein. “It is strange to be known universally and yet to be so lonely.” This quote is all about a fame of a celebrity. This quote means that if you spend so much time being who you are to others. And ignoring your friends and your family. Makes you think that you are actually lonely. So behind the curtain, you have no one to love because your spouse would obviously love you cause your well known and you have money. And you ignored your other loved ones. So it’s actually better to have fame of accomplishing something without it getting to your head. To me, I would want to have fame because of my accomplishments of maybe being a great journalist. But I will work hard at it and not write random things and people would like it because maybe they think I’m good looking. But I’m sure that Martin Luther King Jr. became famous because of making a difference in everybody’s lives.

    Hate;Dislike

When a boy said to my sister that he dislikes her, she thinks in her head saying, “Does dislike mean the same thing as hate? Or is it different?” But I told her that it means the same thing. She thought that he would never be friends with him or he wouldn’t talk to her. But, the hatred or the boy would go away. People would think that hate would mean never talking to eachother, or even when people say they hate you, you would feel lonely or people don’t like you. Everyone in this world would have different definitions about what hate would mean. To me, hate is when you are mad at someone.
Every person would make the word hate, seem different. People would think that, they don’t like you as a friend, or they would not talk, or hang out with you. Hate would be caused by anger, or when they do something that you wouldn’t want them to do. For example, when my classmates found out who their friend likes, they were going to tell the person but their friend didn’t want to tell her. Then their friend said he hated them because of the anger he had. People mostly use the word hate to express how mad they are at a person. Even if hate means many things, sometimes it shouldn’t mean something else.
Hate shouldn’t mean that you would never talk to that person anymore, or that if people hate you, you shouldn’t think that you would become lonely. For example when a person says they hate you, they would think that the person wouldn’t talk to them anymore or they wouldn’t hang out with you anymore. Hate shouldn’t be when you don’t like someone on how they act. For example, if a person has called you weird or different, you hate a person because they are weird. It’s like when you hate one thing about a person, it might be something part of you. Hate shouldn’t be defined in some ways, if you would define hate, it would be different than anyone’s definition.
I think that the meaning of hate is disliking a person or a strong dislike of a person. But you should think why you would hate that person. When you hate a person your angry at that person, or you dislike that person because of some reason. But what if that thing about that person has something to do with you. For example, you hate a person that’s selfish. But think if you have been selfish to a
    person before.
Hate is when your mad at someone and is caused by anger. There is this quote that I have found by Lord Byron, “Hatred is the madness of the heart.” I think that this quote is true because it is cause by madness.

    Friendship

Do you have a friend? Well if you do you should now how it’s like. For example when me and my friends would hang out after school or when we would go to eachothers house. Friendship is all about having fun. Like when me and my friends would call eachother during summer and hang out. The way we hang out is going to the mall, bolling, or even going to theme parks. Are you wondering why we need friends? Well its because your never lonley and if you are lonley than your not satisfied with your self.

Frienship could mean different things. Well to my friends, friendship is heping each other out when we need it and having their backs in any situation. In the dictionary frienship means a state of mutual trust and support with eachother or a bond with a group of people. In life, friendship is the best thing you can have to survie life.

Friendship is not something that is worth getting in a fight nor back stabbing your friends. It’s like When you have a friend ship, don’t trash it keep it. It’s not something to worry about either. Or lets just say if you have a friend that treats you bad, than that’s not a friendship. Plus it’s not a friendship if your always arguing. Do you think friendship is hard? But then it’s all about believing in them and trusting them.

In a friend ship there could be a group of friends or it could be just the two people. The more you trust them the more the relationship builds. If your wonderind if there are different kinds of friendship, well there are. For example there are your best friends who you tell everything and then there are another set of friends that you kind of trust but don’t tell them a whole lot, then their ar people who you just talk to. But, no matter how many sets of friends you have they still got your back. To me friendship doesn’t really mean love, because it’s about hanging out all the time and treating each other like a family member. At the same time it could kiond of mean love because you could have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. No matter who it is at least you have a friend, just like the saying “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover”. It also means people who you are close to and trust. Being in a frienship could be complicated because there could be fights between each other and then your friendship could be ruind.

Well last but not least it’s good to have a friend because it’s a person that you will need at least once in your life. For example if you need a favor I’m pretty sure they’ll do it for you. Especially if you don’t have any family members that live close. In the end it would be good to have friends. “A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out”. Meaning: If you have a real friend she will always have your back no matter what and that she will be there when you need her.

    Friendship is?

One day, when I was getting ready for my first day of first grade, I walked into the room 1A while my parents were holding my hand and meeting my new teacher. I was really nervous because I didn’t want to leave my parents. When I waved to my mom goodbye, I was now all alone. As I was walking by to go to my seat, my teacher grabbed my hand and told me to introduce myself. I didn’t know what to say and I just froze there. My classmate were staring at me and one of them were laughing at me. So then as my teacher was waiting for what I would say, he told me to just go to my seat. When I was sitting at my seat. When it was recess time, I sat on the bench and wanted to go home. When I was sitiing on the bench, someone came up to me. It was one of my classmates. He asked me if I wanted to play with him and his friends. That’s when I made my first friend. How can you make friends?

Frienship is when you care about someone and your always there for them when they need you the most. That’s what I think friendship is. It’s also when you can be in a group and be yourself. To me frienship is when you are always there for them and someone that you can trust. It’s also when you can have fun with your friends.

Friendship is not when you leave your friends when they need you the most. Friendship is not when you aren’t yourself to be in a certain group. It’s not when you do something bad to be in a particular group, but it isn’t when you are always mad at your friends or you never have a good time with them. Friendship is not when you fight with one another. Friendship is not when you act a certain way just to be in a popular group.

What I think friendship is when I am myself and my friends have the same things in common. It is also when you can have fun without acting like your having fun. Friendship to me is when you don’t have to act like your someone your not. Friendship is when you can laugh with someone.

Friendship is someone that you can have fun with. It’s also when you can be yourself and you don’t have to act like you are someone else. “A friend is one who walks in when others walk out.” I think this means that true friends aren’t afraid of being different and they can b e who they have to be. It’s also when you can have a good time with. Friendship is not when you leave them just to act like your cooler or you want to act like your famous. That is what I think friendship is.

How Does It Feel To Be Beautiful?

On a cloudy afternoon, I was watching television in my room about a teenager who was expressing how it was to be beautiful. She said that it wasn’t on how you look at yourself, but of what you have become. For example, your goals or accomplishments. I agree with this young lady because beauty isn’t of how you look or your appearance. Different people define beauty in many ways and they aren’t all the same. My definition of beauty is being yourself.

To some people, beauty is about appearance. For example, the face. A lot of people like to put make-up on them to make them look more attractive to others. Others might think of those people as “plastics”. This word means that they are very conceited about themselves and appearance in many ways or being fake or artificial.

Beauty isn’t any of those ideas I have just jotted down on this page. It isn’t about your appearance or anything about your body because it’s what’s inside that counts. It’s not about ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬the outside of yourself. It isn’t about what your wear that makes you beautiful because nowadays people aren’t satisfied with their appearance. They change their style and face just to make someone like them.

Beauty should be what matters in the inside not the one on the outside. It depends on how you look at yourself inside out. It isn’t right if you put make up on yourself to make yourself confident that you’re pretty. No matter how much layers of make up you put on, people will still realize you as yourself not as the one who fakes herself to be pretty, but as the one who’s herself.

I will end with a quote by an anonymous person. “It’s beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.” To me, this quote means that in some people, beauty captures their attention, but personality wins your heart. This quote relates to this essay because, as I have said before, it matters on the inside, which is your personality not of your appearance.

Anime: Study of Modern Visual Culture

Many times, my family, relatives, and cousins ask my sister and I, “what is anime?” It is always hard to explain, an the answer always results with Japanese. Yes it is true. In the dictionary, it says anime is Japanese movies, television, and animations. But time after time, the only anime that kids know are Avatar the last airbender, Naruto, and Zatch Bell. The only reason they know this is because they come from popular kid channels like Nickalodean and Cartoon Network’s Toonami. At the moment, Toonami has only shows made by Japanese artists. I am going to talk about the many ideas and definitions of Anime.

Most people don’t even know what Anime is but those who do know think of anime as Japanese shows and comic books. But anime is only made up of animations, shows and things like that on DVDs, old animes like Tenchi Muyo and DragonBall Z on VHS, and TV channels like Toonami, Anime Network, and AZN channel. Manga are the japanese comic books but there not all in Japanese language. There just created by Japanese artists and authors but now, big manga companies like Tokyopop not only have Japanese artists, they have artists of different nationalities like Gary Greenfield, John and Juson Waltrip, creators of Idiotz and Hans Iteinbach creator of Midnight Opera. Or even Bettina M. Kuroski, the creator of My Cat Loki and Amy Reeder Hadley, the maker of Fool’s Gold. But, sadley, anime is still anime. Meaning the only ones who have made animated series are Asian Americans, and the only mangas that make it into animes are the ones that are Asian American. For example, Rumiko Takahashi’s popular manga, Inuyasha, was able to become a hit anime series on adult swim and has currently four movies on DVD. Hiromu Arakawa’s FullMetal Alchemist, also started as a manga, become a very popular animated series. Or even Yukiru Sugisaki’s DNAngel started as a manga, became a favorite anime series, adored by many fangirls. More familiar animated(anime) movies are Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s moving Castle, and Spirited Away, all by the famous Hayao Miyazaki and studio Ghibli. Those who know anime but aren’t into it think of it as a thing the anime obsesssed people get into. Those who are into it think anime is very cool and obdicting. To many people, anime can mean different things, it just depends on the person wether they are otaku or not.

Anime should not be refered to as reality, people put it to reality by cosplaying, and making their own movies for fun. Anime shouldn’t be reality because the whole point of anime are things that don’t happen. Even the casual romantic comedy animes have things that wouldn’t actually happen. Cosplay is when Otakus wear the clothes of their favorite anime and/or manga characters to anime expos, anime clubs, or even just to wear it as normal clothing. But Cosplaying should NOT be called older kids playing dress up. That makes Otakus very angry, not to mention very offensive, and you don’t want an Otaku angry. To clarrify, Otakus (or Otaku) are people who are obsessed with or skilled with technology, anime, manga, or all of the above. Otakus should not be considered nerds, dorks, or scruffy nerd herders. Unfortunatly, most people who become Otakus are outcasts, rejects, emos, overweight people, and people who starve to have extra money for anime items like trading cards, plushies, artist supplies (if they draw manga), manga, candy, or DVDs. Very few people who are “normal”, or social with friends and the everyday media, become otakus. But Otakus shouldn’t be called anything negegative even though it’s true, you could say they’re not very social with other non-otakus or have problems interacting with those who don’t know anime. Those who starve for what they want you could call starving artists or determined. But it may be hard to classify the personality of an Otaku because there are four groups of personality that all consist of skinny and big people holding backpacks. There are the extremely happy and hyper kind that hold perverts, immature, easygoing, and happy-go-lucky people. The next one holds Otaku emos, all wear black, all want die or hurt themselves, and people who think of the world as a depressing place. Now this group holds the extremely shy people, those who are to shy to look, chat, or socially interact with other otakus. They can pretty muuch glance at others, talk very softly, and have their noses in books. The last group is the hardest because they are the ones with mixed personalities. It is the result of to much of anime, manga, that they soon act like all their favorite characters. If you come across an Otaku, do not tell them or refer to them as anything I just said, I’m just pointing it out. Just call them Otaku, the most rspectable way to refer to them.

To me, anime is everything. It’s part of my life in almost every way. For example, I have a lot of anime DVDs, way to many manga, I draw anime way to often, I watch anime on TV as often I can. I have bought a bunch of anime collectebles like hats, shirts, necklaces, backpacks, action figures, manga series, a costume of Loki from Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok-anime, and many other items. This may be an obsession, but I wont stop. The way I can view if something is anime is if there are big- eyed characters, Japanese audio with english subtitles (sometimes because they ocasionally come with english audio), when their mouth dosen’t match what their saying, and if it’s created by someone the Japanese nationality.

Now to end this with a quote, from Menzo, the musician who sang “My Pace Daioh” for the beginning theme song of the hit anime ,Genshiken, by Kio Shimoku . “Wake up in the morning, forgot my cell phone as usual, missed the train. My life reflects in the train’s window. I have something. I’m better than enyone else in Japan, but it’s a little sad no one knows about it. Even though I can’t run fast, I’m not built that strong, I’ll go now, my pace is indomitable. Today’s sorrow, go away like the afternoon’s rain. The second dance on the two feet, dreaming night after night. Goodbye sorrow, take off beyond the atmospere. Scream out load towards the vast sky. With this tempo… …With this tempo now.” This quote pretty much explains what it’s like to be an otaku. Sometimes their not that responsible, most of them aren’t that strong or fast, so they keep their minds focused on what they want, and it seems to help them to obtain important things like anime and manga. A lot of them are too optamistic, audacious, and positive about themselves. By “my life reflects in the train’s window”, it meens this person lives in Japan, and for otakus, the top place to go for anime and electronics is Akihabara. The only way they can get to Akihabara is by train, so this otaku rides the train to Akihabara all the time. Anime and otakus make their way into the society as “normal.” To some people, anime is just an obsession, but for otakus, it’s not just an obsession. It’s a way of life.

    LOVE

Always when you see a movie about romance. You see the guy and the girl love each other but they cannot be together. And some how it the they end up at the end of the movie together and the end. But there is always somebody that doesn’t want them to be together. And that person tries with all their power to break them up.

Then there are love song. There are hundreds and millions songs about love. There’s songs telling about how they love each other. Or like the Black Eyed Peas they wrote a song and it title “Where’s the Love”. It that song they are talking about everybody treats other badly. Like for an example some people don’t like other because if their race and what color the person is. So that is what the song is talking about. It is not telling about a girl or guy nor boyfriend or girlfriend it’s about peace in the world. So there are different types of love.

There is different types of love because one type of love is your parents love. They love you because you’re their son or daughter. Also the second type of love is your family love. Of course, you love our family because they are related to you. The third types is that you love things. Like for an example, I love to go swimming. That type of love is different of the others. The fourth and last one is between two people, a man and a woman.

And everybody has a different meaning of love. Well, I have the meaning of love from the dictionary. The first one is very strong affection: an intense feeling of tender affection and compassion. For an example, Young children need conditional love. Another meaning is strong liking for or pleasure gained from something. For an example, some people love the watch old movies.

Where people hear the word love the something pops into everybody’s mind. You know boyfriend and girlfriend. So my point is that there are different types of love. So when somebody asks you, what does love means to you. Tell them love has many different means.

    Shy
I walked into the classroom of K-B, Mrs.Parker’s class. Cringing in fear I had took my place and waved my to my dad as he left the room full of kids. I cried and cried for a long while untill my sit mate had told me, “its ok don’t cry” in a gentle calming voice that was my only conversation in kinder for a long while, I was very shy. To me shy is doing nothing and getting nothing this means that if you just sit there quiet and unparticipating, nothing will happen, nothing. Being shy is having or showing nervousness in the company of others it’s basically someone neither loved or hated, an outcast. The word “shy” is misunderstood in so many ways.

Being shy isn’t flaunting around or basking in fame, it is not confidence. Having confidence not just in yourself, but for others nervousness isnt being obnoxious either. Walking around with a group of people following you acting like you own everybody is’nt being shy. It is’nt Johnny Depp in his crazy drunken-like act in Pirates of the Carribean or Kobe with his 50 points in one game. Shy isnt Jessica Alba playing the great her invisible woman or Jet Lee in his ever poular last movie Fearless. These people have a lot of confidence but if your shy, well you’re a nobody to the world.

What shy is, is a whole different meaning from nervousnes. You can have the secret to Global Warming but if your shy, your to afraid to even hear your voice shy people have top open up but they to are also to afraid of that. “Shy- having or showing nervousness or timidity in the company of other people” this definition states that a shy person is an outcast, the blacksheep. Shy people stand alone by that I mean they stand out, they don’t participate, they don’t open up at all. But don’t get mixed up im not saying they stand up for themselves or others like ugly betty or the pursuit of hapiness or the great JFK. This is what the definition means but if you ask me I would have a little different idea of it.

To me being shy is used in many ways, it depends on how people react with it. For example someone can be quiet, by that I mean sitting around doing your work maybe afraid to ask a question. A great way of seeing the word shy is being self-conscious for example what I had said earlier walking out thinking your too fat, to skinny maybe even too flashy. As for me when im shy im afraid to open up to someone for example a teacher perhaps, I would be too scared to ask a question, stand up and end up with a dead end. If a teacher asks a question to the class sometimes I woul know and just say it in my mind, why?, because im scared to answer it in front of the class or if I don’t know I don’t know a way to get out of it so that people dont think im stupid.

In conclusion being shy is having showing timidity or nervousnessin the company of other people. This quote by Kahlil Gibran “A shy failure is nobler than an immodest succed”. This quote reflects on being shy because it shows that if you really are shy at heart don’t be ashamed because you still are awarded fro doin what others cant, you can back away, just, say no. Next time don’t do anything and get nothing, do something and get something.

    Boredom Kills

One day, I was at home doing nothing, just laying on my bed and staring at the ceiling. I asked myself, ”What can I possibly do?” Nothing came to mind and I lay there. Then my mother came into my room and asked, “What are you doing?” I replied, “ Nothing. Mom what do you call a person doing nothing and is blank because that person can’t think of what to do?” She replied, “ Your’re BORED, that’s all!!” The word boredom is always said by people but sometimes for no apparent reason for saying it. Sometimes this word can be defined but in a way another person can’t understand. And then, a person can’t define it and still say it, for they get it on television, movies, books, adults or older siblings, or a group of people talking nonsense. To me the word boredom means having life yet not having the mind to know what to do at that time of the present.

Boredom can mean something different to me and boredom can mean something to you. It can mean doing something but not wanting to do it and feeling as if nothing is happening. For example you are at school writing paragraphs on something, but feel you don’t want to do it and feel nothing. It also may mean to other people doing nothing and being lazy. It also may mean looking weird by not doing anything. Among my really close friends and other people, unfortunately, boredom is being one of their expertise in life. For them, always describe themself as boring. You have to feel blank and selfless to say you are officially bored.
    to be defi
Boredom is not being interested in something, something that really gets your attention and you enjoy. Books and tv shows shouldn’t be the definers of boredom. The media or unknown people around you, shouldn’t define boredom because they supposidly know everything about everything. Boredom is not about the movies, actors and actresses acting out being bored from boredom and neither your friends. Boredom is also not something that should be defined as a life full of nothing to do in this world. It should not be defined by what you do that is nothing and feeling nothing but blank.

Boredom is knowing and feeling that you just have nothing to do at that time and moment than rather say I am bored because people say it and you think it’s cool. If you just do nothing and you think you feel bored, then I guess you are bored for thinking you are bored from doing nothing but thinking your bored. If you think you know how you feel as to feeling bored, then I guess that’s your defintion for that word.

I will end with a quote by a writer named Thomas S. Szasz. I have researched it on the internet, and I think it really defines the word boredom: “ Boredom is the feeling that everything is a waste of time; serenity, that nothing is.” To me this quote means very much of what boredom really is and not by what people think it is. It applies to everything about the so called word boredom. Boredom is a word and a word of a feeeling of nothing.

Useless, Not an Every Day Word

One of the times I have experienced somnebody sayiung the word useless is when I were playing online. So there was this guy or girl who could know I mean I was playing online. So back to the story, the person that said useless was the worst person in the server. It gets really annoying if you keep on getting killed. So the person finnaly said, “I’m just useless.” Well I don’t think that people use the word in their every day life. But, the sole purpose I picked the word useless, is because I think people mostly use this as a word of failing, or beeing bad at something. The reason of why it is important to define this word, is because of people not always but ussualy use this word as an act of failure. Useless feels like you just can’t do it, or any other form of sadness. That is why im going to try and define it in my own words but in a different form.
Useless to others can be described by one word, that one word is bad. Bad because of the way that people say the word. Another way people say the word is anything that they have is broken or if it has no value to them. For instance I found this book about socks and I have no current interest for them, so I would say “This is just useless.” Many people also describe it as reflecting to them, like if they are not as they state good enough they will think of them selves as useless. But I think people are sometimes so down on themselves, is because they think they are not good enough to reach their goal. People use the word useless in different ways, but there are also wrong ways of using that certain word.
There are many ways that people missuse the word useless. Well to start, the dictionary says “not fulfilling or not expected to achieve the intended purpose or desired outcome.” So I think that the word useless should not be used if you don’t fulfill your goal. Another definition from the dictionary is “having no ability or skill in a specified activity or area.” For example nobody is useless, no matter how bad they are in a certain area of skill, or in a certain activity. So the way that people are using this word is by telling them selves that they cannot do it no matter what.
I have been saying many ways that people, even books use the word useless. The word useless to me is, a word that describes unconfident people. For example the ways I have described it in the first and the second body pargraph is mostly about not being able to do whatever you want to succeed in. The reason why I think useless describes unconfident people, is because they think that they can’t do anything about what they want to finish. Another definition I have is that the word useless is more described for things such as useless information.
The wise words of Pablo Picasso once said that “Computers are useless, they only gives answers.” The thing I like about this quote is that it actually makes sense, if all you get are answers what difficulties are there in trying to answer or clear up an opinion. Many ways are used to describe one word, for the word useless however, I believe in wrong ways and right ways to use the word.

    What Really is Death?

The dictionary defines the word death as the end of life. I know, people don’t discuss this everyday. People don’t talk about this everyday because it is uncomfortable. Some people don’t want to see their parents or grandparents dying so they send them at nursing homes. But it is important to discuss this because people use it and that’s not really the word meant. What does it really mean? A girl who’s not breathing or someone that cannot feel the things here on earth? That’s why every person has his or her own definition for every word.

Death has many definitions for different kinds of people. It can mean end of everything for her. And others consider death as not to be able to get air. When someone dies, people immediately think where the dead goes whether if it’s heaven or hell. The first definition of death is almost always end of everything for people. But some others think that death, for some reason, is the beginning of a new life. Other people, like Muslims, define it in different ways and death is not should be defined by anything else except for yourself.

Death is not only to be defined as the end of everything. Death has many definitions. Death is not something to be defined as just when a person is not moving. Is not only to be defined by these things because after death we start a spiritual life which we meet heaven or hell. Death has more definitions and for me it is far more than just the end of life.

To me, it means as the end of physical life but it starts a spiritual life. And the first question is where do we go after death. Whether we celebrate with God or suffer the burning hell. And after that when we go to heaven, if we keep on sinning we will still go down to hell. After death we have something to do, not just sleep and won’t wakeup again.

In conclusion, others has their own definition, death has a definition beyond the end of life, and to me after death starts a spiritual life. John Dryden once said, “Death in itself is nothing; but we fear to be we not, we know not where.” I think that Dryden is correct because when we die, we don’t know where we are going. And even when we go to heaven and we keep on sinning to God, we will go to hell. Before death, we don’t where to go. We will just know it after, when we start our spiritual life. So the next time, do good deeds so that it will help you to go to heaven.

  79. Francis M said

To Raymart: I really think that your essay was very good. I like your 2nd body paragraph because it tells the truth. We only die physically, but not spiritually. I also liked how you used the quote. Althought it was confusing, I like how you commented on it.

Rafael: I liked your essay cause it had what people think life is all about. It is hard to define life, especially since people have different views of how they see life. Some may think their life is great and should live it to their fullest, some think their life is full of misery, and should just put an end to it.

  84. Erika V said

Francis, I like your essay about hope. I especially like your anecdote because it relates to just about everybody. I never actually study, but still do well on tests anyway. I also like your quote cause, as you said, it is true. You need much more than just courage and willpower to lift the world.

This is to Fancis’ essay. You truely believe in hope and described it very well, You had me look at hope in a very different way. Your paragraphs are really strong and wonderful. I wish I wrote and looked at things the way you do!

For Johnathan Dizon, your essay is very powerful. All your points are true. Perfect is what a lot of us dream of. But who says perfect has to be all the same? That is a true statement, Johnathan. It is very true. Perfect is what we think of it, not what others see it as all the same thing. It is like sucess, the way Mr. Lopez pointed it as. Your essay is like Mr. Lopez’s, the way I see it as. Very powerful and strong.

  99. Nicole S. said

For Krizia, you made great points on hate. Hate is too strong of a word when you use it against a person or thing. You have to think about a lot when you use the word hate. Like the example you did of being selfinsh. You made me understand hate a lot more.

What can we do? Besides using spell check – we really need to work on our basics as well.

Erika V., I really liked your essay because you describe what a friend really is and what it is not. You pictured a person who doesn’t know what a friend is and you gave them thoughts so they could picture or imagine something in their head.

  105. Victoria A. said

Lara I admire your essay because you let people know that the word beauty doesn’t always have to be based on the looks or appereance. But the word beauty can mean something that you admire so much that is beautiful to you.

  106. mrlopez said

True, Vic – beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I like looking at rain because I find beauty in it. My sister might not like to look at rain because it reminds her of the day when our grandmother died.

    It all depends.

  107. Victoria A. said

Kyrollos I think your essay is great because you give out the definition of what responsibility means to other people and what it says in the dictionary. so you let other people understand what responsibility can mean.

  108. Victoria A. said

On Rafael’s essay I like the fact that he explained the different types of meanings their can be for the word living. My favorite part in his essay is when he gave the dictionaries meaning for the word living because he put so many details that I could actually picture the meaning.

  110. Brianna D. said

Moriah, I like your essay about friendship. But you wrote that friends can sometimes get into fights. But you can put even if friends will into fights only true friends will make up and won’t let that fight get in between them. And one thing don’t forget to check your spelling.

    About Daphne’s Eassay:

Like for an example, they party, drink, do drugs, and other bad things. Because they are so famous and over worked that let them to do bad things.
